After a long car journey to Cornwall, with a huge and delicious breakfast in Devon, I felt stiff and unenthusiastic about getting out of the car and actually cycling.
By the time we arrived at Lands End the sun was shining and I was met by a small crowd of supporters (three) brought by my cousin Henry. After quite a lot of cake to celebrate to start of the ride (and the obligatory photos) we set off up the hill towards Scotland.

Can I really get all the way there? I’ll just see what happens, but the donations have now reached more than £3,000 so thank you to everybody who has donated.

After a interview with lovely BBC Radio WM, they said that they would follow me every week along my journey.
Slight setback – I’ve lost a sock.

Good luck Gina!
I’ve heard a story (it might be apocryphal) of ultra light weight bikepackers saving weight by only packing one spare sock, presumably rotating the privilege of a clean sock between left and right. So maybe this is will help you up the hills.
